Eastleigh will visit League Two Newport County in the FA Cup third round on January 3 after the South Wales side beat Barnet 4-1 in a replay.
Ironically, Newport only salvaged a draw with a late goal in the first meeting.
Teenager Lewis Payne, who played twice for Spitfires while on loan from Saints last season, opened the scoring for Newport County, who stormed into a 3-0 first half lead.
Former Eastleigh midfielder Harry Pritchard scored Barnet's consolation goal.
Eastleigh beat Reading 2-1 to claim a third round place for the first time.
