BLACKFIELD & Langley maintained an iron grip on the Sydenhams Premier Division top spot with a 4-1 Waterside derby win against Fawley AFC at Gang Warily tonight.

The Oilers were on top for much of the first half and looked to be going in at half-time leading by a Pete Keating goal, but Blackfield's ex-Weymouth midfielder Luke Winsper levelled against the run of play on 45 minutes.

The hosts struck again through ex-Saint Jamie White straight after the break and further goals from White and Ryan Murray put the game to bed, giving Glenn Howes’ men a perfect six wins out of six.

It said much for Fawley’s efforts, however, that goalkeeper Brad Snelling was presented with Blackfield’s man-of-the-match award.

With Portland United drawing 2-2 at Hamworthy, Moneyfields moved second after a 2-0 win at ten-man Horndean.

Deans’ goalkeeper Tom Price was red-carded, conceding a 23rd-minute penalty scored by Steve Hutchings. Dan Woodward bagged Moneys’ second.

Shane Sheridan earned Bashley a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth Poppies, taking the Foresters a point clear of Sholing who were beaten 2-1 at home by Alresford Town.

Craig Harding put Alresford in front following a 34th-minute corner and the merry Magpies doubled their advantage through Aaron Blaxall just after the hour.

Dan Mason gave the Boatmen hope from the penalty spot after Zac Mouland had been fouled, but Sholing’s late pressure – including a Mason header against the crossbar – came to nought.

A delighted Blaxall tweeted: "Nothing like popping up to score the winner. What a result."

A crowd of 142 joined ex-Saint Francis Benali at Grigg Lane for 'The big switch-on' of Brockenhurst’s new floodlights. But there were no goals to add some extra shine to the occasion as the New Forest derby ended 0-0 against Lymington Town.

The points were shared between Andover Town (Shane Lock) and Whitchurch United (Callum Sweeney) and it was 1-1 too in Wiltshire where Scott Joyce scored for Bemerton Heath at Amesbury.

Fareham’s ‘El Creekio’ derby with AFC Portchester ended in disappointment for Steve Stone’s men as Porch triumphed 2-0 through Andy Todd and Steve Ramsey (penalty).

There was no doubting the Hamble bragging rights with Folland Sports trounced 7-0 by neighbours Hamble Club in Sydenhams One.

Dougie Rowe weighed in with four goals for the table-topping Monks, who have netted an astonishing 42 times in six league games since promotion from the Hampshire Premier League.

James Thomson, Liam Crook and Coby Wilson also scored for the early-season pace-makers.

Hamble Club top the pile on goal difference from Laverstock & Ford who also boast a six out of six success rate.

Lavvy edged a tight battle with Downton 1-0 at The Dell thanks to Russell Jones’ decider.
