SALISBURY are planning a ‘Party on the Pitch’ to celebrate their Sydenhams Premier Division title-winning triumph.

The Whites, who are due to receive the championship trophy at their final game of the season at home to Newport IoW on Saturday, will be erecting a marquee at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium on Friday, May 20 (7pm), to mark an amazing first season as a reborn club.

The players' and supporters’ awards will be presented before manager and TV pundit Steve Claridge takes to the stage for an after-dinner speech.

A £40 ticket also includes a welcome drink, two-course dinner, raffle and auction, music and dance and a licensed bar. Contact the club on 01722 776655.

Salisbury sharpshooter Sam Wilson will be gunning for his 40th goal of the season on Saturday to push ahead of Sholing’s Dan Mason in the race for the Sydenhams Premier golden boot.

Visitors Newport will be keen for a different outcome at the Ray Mac, having lost there 1-0 on Monday against Team Solent in the final of the Sydenhams Wessex League Cup.

Andy Sampson’s mid-table Islanders have played again since then, beating Whitecroft & Barton 3-0 on Wednesday to reach the final of the Isle of Wight Gold Cup.

Goals by Liam Triggs, Connor Kelly and Tom McInnes booked an all-Sydenhams Premier showdown against Cowes Sports.

For every paying adult at Salisbury tomorrow, one child will get in free.
