WINCHESTER schoolpupils have heard an inspirational talk from a top paralympic athlete Sinclair Thomas.

Kings’ secondary school helped mark its Olympic week with a visit by Sinclair, GB wheelchair basketball Athens 2004 medallist and current GB coach.

The school wanted to mark the forthcoming Olympics with events that engage the whole school.

A week was set aside for Olympic themes within the normal timetables.

As part of National Schools’ Sports Week, it provided an excellent opportunity for all pupils to compete and participate as well as gain a further insight into the challenges and demands of being an Olympian or Paralympian.
