In a ground-breaking event, Winchester School of Art celebrated World Earth Day with "The Living Library: Design Emergency."
Eschewing old-school tomes, the initiative featured 15 living books, all dynamic individuals focused on regeneration, climate action, and progressive thinking through art and design.
The approach promoted a different kind of reading, establishing a meaningful dialogue between participants and living books, sharing insights and experiences around Earth-based subjects.
Emphasising the pivotal role of design in healing and restoration, the event was organised by Danny Aldred, programme leader for MA Communication Design.
The Living Library draws from age-old storytelling, offering an interactive learning channel that promotes richer understanding while reimagining solutions for a better future.
Mr Aldred said: "I feel immensely privileged to be immersed in the realm of design education. Design inherently revolves around problem-solving. To tackle some of the most daunting challenges we face today, collaboration and idea-sharing are imperative. Together, we can reshape our collective future."
