I would like to express my thanks to everyone who’s sent me and my family such kind messages following the recent death of my son Alex Barratt.

The numbers who attended his funeral at Chesil House or watched the live stream were truly overwhelming which made it impossible for me to thank everyone personally at the time.

It’s been a great comfort during these very dark days to know how loved Alex was and how much he’ll be missed not just by us but by so many friends, both old and new.

I’m also extremely grateful for the many donations in Alex’s memory to Winchester Hospice, whose staff and volunteers made my boy’s last days as peaceful and dignified as possible. A huge thank you to all of you.
