A WINCHESTER woman has received a suspended prison sentence for stealing food and alcohol.
Summer McCarthy, 21, of Staple Gardens, stole items of food and bottles of wine from a Tesco Express and Co-op in Winchester. The offences took place on December 31, a court heard.
Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, February 27, McCarthy pleaded guilty to the offences.
She has received a two-month prison sentence, suspended by 12 months.
Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was due to the seriousness of the offences, and that McCarthy has a flagrant disregard for the courts and people and their property.
McCarthy must also pay £33.05 compensation.
