A FORMER Itchen Valley pub landlord has pleaded not guilty to 13 offences including nine counts of sexual assault.

Jason Colbourne will stand trial at Winchester Crown Court this summer after pleading not guilty to sexual assault, indecent exposure and like offences between April and October.

Eight victims and other witnesses have come forward.

Colbourne, 55, formerly of The Cricketers Inn, in Easton, has been charged with nine counts of sexual assault, two counts of indecent exposure – exposing his genitals with the intention to cause alarm or distress and two like offences. Colbourne denied all 13 counts when at Winchester Crown Court on Monday, January 22.

Judge Adam Feest agreed with Chloe Jay, defending, and Barry McElduff, prosecuting, to allow three weeks for the trial in either July or August subject to the availability of witnesses.

Colbourne, of Wessex Lane, Swaythling, remains on conditional bail. He must live and sleep at the given address, not interfere with the GPS equipment and is banned from Easton.

Witnesses were granted special measures to use screens and audio to provide evidence.
