THE tranquility of a Test Valley street has been shattered after a pensioner has seen his car vandalised for the second time in 18 months.

Michael Bray fears what will happen next after he discovered that white paint and eggs had been thrown across his back garden patio.

He also found that the paint of his £9,000 blue Peugeot 308 car had been scratched out with keys.

The homeowner moved into one of seven bungalows in Fowler’s Walk, Chilworth, which cater for people aged over 55 in 2008.

But in the past 18 months he has seen his car damaged twice and now his patio, which he and his wife “worship”, has been vandalised too.

“I woke this morning to find my patio covered in white paint and eggs,” he said.

“I have had my car keyed quite seriously. This has been done with malice.

"I’m not from this area. We moved here in 2008, it’s an absolutely beautiful community because there’s old people that live here.

“It’s the second time my car’s been keyed, the first time was 18 months ago. I changed it in September. It isn’t as though we’re young people, we’re both in our 70s. We keep ourselves to ourselves. We don’t have late night parties.

“We absolutely worship our patio, we have barbecues out there. We have garden furniture, we spend a lot of time out there in the summer.

“What do I do to protect myself? We’re now getting worried.”

He fears that he will have to fork out thousands of pounds for a new car after the first was written off in the damage.

A spokesman from Hampshire police said that no arrests had been made.

“We’re working with our partners in Test Valley Borough Council and the housing providers as part of this investigation,” they added.
