A ROMSEY teenager is well on her way to finding fame.

Suzanne Poole who has set her sights on becoming an actress made her mark on judges with her performance of I Dreamed a Dream in the area finals of the Open Mic UK singing competition in Fareham on Saturday.

Judges put the 13-year-old through to the Southern Area Finals on November 29.

A thrilled Suzanne, a pupil at Romsey School, said: “I had some great feedback, tips to improve from the judges, which I will include next. When I was on the stage in the bright lights I couldn’t see a thing. Nerves are good because they boost your performance.”

Talking about the next stage of the competition, Suzanne said: “Two acts will go through to the National Finals which are usually held at the 02 or NEC, it is so exciting and I’d love to get through. It’s good that it is in Fareham again as I am now used to the stage and know what to expect.”

Se added: “I need to choose my song carefully this time, something different and memorable. And yes, I am really looking forward to this, it is such a great way to gather stage experience and also to get feedback from music industry professionals.”

Suzanne is now auditioning for a role in the Sunshine charity’s annual fundraising event in London next February and she’s also been invited to sing at the Rotary Club of Romsey Test’s Christmas party.
